Meet the Congregational Care Team:
Pastoral Care Associates
Need support, or know someone who does? Reach us at congcare@allsouls.ws — we'll respond with care and confidentiality.
The All Souls Pastoral Care team is made up of All Souls members who have volunteered to provide support and loving attention to individuals in our church community. Caring for one another is an important spiritual practice, and it strengthens our commitment to each other and helps us live out our congregational covenant.
We provide a compassionate listening presence to people facing challenges in their lives. We can:
Visit people who are hospitalized, convalescing, or have serious health problems
Make regular phone calls or visits to people who are not currently able to attend church
Provide companionship to a community member who lives alone
Support people who are anticipating or experiencing a loss
Listen to people who are working through personal challenges or difficult experiences
Be present for people who need spiritual support
About our associates
Pastoral Care Associates are trained under a curriculum developed by the UUA and receive ongoing training in how to respond to different congregational needs, such as trauma, bereavement, and other challenges. They meet regularly to discuss issues and concerns and report directly to Reverend Anastassia.
Although Pastoral Care Associates do not provide counseling, advice, or practical assistance, they can make referrals to people and organizations that offer these types of services.
A Pastoral Care Associate wearing a green stole is available after worship and during the week.
You are not alone. We are here to walk with you.
To reach the Pastoral Care team or learn more, use the contact form below or email congcare@allsouls.ws. Questions for our minister can go to Rev. Anastassia Zinke at azinke@allsouls.ws.
Our current Pastoral Care Associates
Barbara Corprew — a longtime member of All Souls who attended Sunday School here as a youngster. She is deeply grateful for the care and support she has received from this community, and believes in the power of belonging to a multicultural, multigenerational congregation. Barbara has served on the Board and been active in the church's caring network for more than a decade.
Laurie Ensworth — a longtime member of All Souls. She has been involved in many church activities, including co-leading a covenant group, working with the Heiwa Peace Project, and starting the Refugee Support Initiative (now the Migrant Solidarity Team).
Mary Beth Hatem — a member of All Souls and of the Jubilee Singers for 15 years. She practices mindfulness and has facilitated numerous dharma talks. Mary Beth leads the Poetry and Journaling Covenant Group, helps compile the monthly covenant group theme guides, and sings with the By Your Side Singers.
Kathy Ferger — a member of All Souls for nearly four decades. She has served the church in building community and caring for one another — teaching in the RE program, as a past chair of the Right Relations team, and as a geo-group host.
Dana Martin — a Pastoral Care Associate since 2011, and a parent of a child here. She has been a former RE teacher for many years, and is currently training in interfaith chaplaincy at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She also sings with the By Your Side Singers and the Solidarity Singers.
Owen Fitzgerald — a member since 2022 and a Pastoral Care Associate since 2025. He has been active in Young Souls, Green Souls, church governance, and the music ministry. Owen enjoys connecting with people across the congregation and offering a compassionate listening presence.
Leslie Tolf — an active member of All Souls for two decades, beginning as a religious education teacher at the church. She is a certified death doula and hosts the Death Café. Leslie is especially interested in helping people in recovery, the LGBTQ+ community, and the under-resourced, and coordinates the pastoral care team.
