Tara Brach, Ph. D is the author of Radical Acceptance–Embracing Your Life with the Heart of a Buddha (Bantam, 2003.) She is founder and senior teacher of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington which sponsors meditation at All Souls on Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:00 pm. Tara teaches Buddhist meditation at centers in the United States and Canada. A clinical psychologist, she has taught extensively on the application of Buddhist teachings to emotional healing. Many people in the All Souls community have attended her mesmerizing meditation class on Wednesday nights at River Road Unitarian. Her honorarium is provided by the Beckner Fund.

Bishop John Selders is an ordained minister serving in the United Church of Christ and the organizing pastor of Amistad United Church of Christ in Hartford, CT. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop in the Church of God and presides over a new religious body, the Inter-Denominational Conference of Liberation Congregations and Ministries--an interfaith, ecumenical fellowship of radical inclusivity. Bishop Selders is a member of the Human Rights Campaign Religion Council where he has helped create safe-space conversations with African-American clergy on issues of same gender relationships in the African-American church.
