About Interweave and Lambda Souls

Interweave is a national organization affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association dedicated to the spiritual, political, and social well-being of Unitarian Universalists who are confronting oppression as gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender persons (GLBT), and their heterosexual allies. Interweave facilitates the celebration of the culture and lives of its members. At All Souls, we call ourselves Lambda Souls Interweave, and we sponsor monthly social events, such as potlucks, and other activities for GLBT folks, friends, and families.

What we do and offer

Lambda Souls Interweave pursues political and social equity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons. Recently our spiritual and social efforts have focused on:

  • holding social activities on the first Saturday of every month;
  • lunching together in Pierce Hall on the third Sunday of every month after the 11:15 service;
  • socializing and building community at potlucks held at least quarterly; and
  • exploring the role of All Souls Church in GLBT history.

Events held over the past five years

  • Quarterly social events (potlucks)
  • DC pride activities (DC’s Capital Pride, Youth Pride, and Black Pride)
  • National Gay and Lesbian Task Force volunteer nights
  • Film nights featuring compelling documentaries, such as “The Laramie Project”
  • Interfaith Activities - Capital Pride Interfaith Service sponsored by Celebration of the Spirit Coalition
