Committee on Ministry

Mission:  Called and compelled by the All Souls Covenant of Right Relations and the vision of shared ministry, the Committee on Ministry attends to, supports, strengthens, and enriches the shared ministry of the church, both lay and professional. The CoM is a standing committee of the church, sanctioned by and responsible to the Board of Trustees. Its members meet monthly, or as often as needed. The meetings are closed and confidential, to allow for frank discussion of ministerial issues, including support and evaluation of the senior minister. 

Functions of the Committee on Ministry include

• monitoring the health of the congregation in relation to ministry;
• supporting development of shared ministry and understanding of the covenant of right relations;
• coordinating annually evaluations of ministry, usually including a biennial evaluation of the performance of the senior minister;
• recommending to the Board of Trustees changes and actions, including those regarding ordination and sponsorship of ministerial candidates;
• responding to requests from the Board for research, analysis, or action;
• supporting the senior minister and other ministerial staff as needed; and
• addressing conflicts, in keeping with Board-approved procedures.
