spacer About the Book Discussion Group

Our book discussion group has about 10 core members, but other people do occasionally attend. We read both fiction and non-fiction, and choose the books by consensus, although everyone is encouraged to suggest titles. There is no formal pattern to the discussion, and new participants are welcome.

The group normally meets on the second Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. Members take turns hosting the discussions at their homes, but nobody should feel obliged to host.

Some examples of what we've read in the past year include:

- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis
- Washington Square, by Henry James
- The Best of Simple, by Langston Hughes
- The Pilgrim of Tinker Creek, by Annie Dillard
- The Same Sea, by Amos Oz
- Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston
